On her terms

Kim Collins was so busy jet-setting around the country that she didn’t even realize she was running on empty. Fortunately, a Promoter friend came to her rescue

Ten years ago, Kim Collins was running on empty. At the time, she was “insanely busy,” overseeing 300 employees at a travel agency and insurance company with locations across the U.S.

In every city where she regularly traveled for business, Collins says, the baristas at the Starbucks locations she frequented would shout out her order as soon as she walked in the door. “Depending on the season, they’d serve me a pumpkin spice latte or caramel macchiato without me even opening my mouth,” remembers Collins. While downing coffee to keep up with her hectic travel schedule, Collins also grabbed fast food on the road and, as a result, often had digestive issues. “The funny thing was, I didn’t even realize how bad I felt at the time,” she says.

But that changed in December 2013, when Collins had a particularly difficult day. She was closing an office in Western Nebraska, and her stress levels skyrocketed. An acquaintance of Collins, THRIVE Promoter Sheila Fausone, called her on her cell phone. “She told me, ‘You need the THRIVE Experience,’ and I didn’t argue with her,” Collins says.

The next weekend, Collins called all her friends who were as tired and busy as she was, and asked them to try the THRIVE Experience with her. She then ordered the THRIVE products for both herself and her husband, Steve. He was a Day 1 THRIVER, but Collins was not. “He owned a flooring company and had been crawling around on his hands and knees his whole life,” Collins says. On the first morning, he tried the THRIVE Experience, “he popped right out of bed and bee-bopped out the door, feeling that joint support,” she says.

Collins, on the other hand, didn’t notice a difference initially. But after a few weeks, she and her teenage son were having a conversation before he headed off to school. “I had remarked that I couldn’t believe how much the THRIVE Experience was doing for his dad, and he laughed at me and said, ‘Oh, you don’t think it’s working for you?’” she says. Her son pointed out that the two had been having “great morning chitchats” that Collins had previously been too exhausted to have. Then, he pointed out that she hadn’t finished her morning cup of coffee in three days.

“That’s when I realized that THRIVE was working.” Collins began enjoying more restful sleep each night, too, and no longer had digestive issues.

“I know it sounds cheesy, but I get to enjoy life on my terms now. It’s a beautiful thing.”

She signed up to become a Promoter, and all her friends who’d tried it with her did, too. Next, Collins made a list of everyone else she knew who could benefit from THRIVE products and soon had a list “a mile long” of people she could share her THRIVE Experience story with.

Within three weeks of becoming a Promoter, she earned her Auto Bonus. “It was all very organic,” Collins says. “I’d get calls every night from happy friends, telling me, ‘Oh my goodness, my general discomforts have been eased,” or, “I slept like a baby for the first time in years.’”

In 2016, Collins reached the 200K VIP milestone and earned the Le-Vel Millionaire Award. At about the same time, she decided to become a full-time THRIVER. “I looked in the mirror one day and told myself that if I ever boarded an airplane again, it would be because I wanted to, not because I had to.”

Now, as Collins continues to build her THRIVE business, she is grateful for the time and freedom the Le-Vel opportunity has provided her. One recent morning, she worked her business in her home office while tending to her teething grandbaby. “I know it sounds cheesy, but I get to enjoy life on my terms now,” she says. “It’s a beautiful thing.”
